SCUZZY THOUGHTS: The members of The Corin Tucker Band are sort of indie rock royalty. A "super-group" without the trappings and pitfalls of what that label generally entails. Comprised of singer/guitarist Corin Tucker (Sleater-Kinney), drummer Sara Lund (Unwound, Hungry Ghost), bassist Seth Lorinczi (The Golden Bears, Circus Lupus), and guitarist/keyboardist Mike Clark (Stephen Malkmus & The Jicks). the band spent much of the 90's laying the blueprint for today's indie culture. Corin Tucker's songs have progressed from her riot grrrl days, combining a mature and wise view on our social landscape with her boisterous songwriting. Their album, Kill My Blues packs a punch, highlighted by lead single "Groundhog Day," a song that roars against the pending threat of women's right certain politicians have campaigned. As relevant now as ever, Corin Tucker and co. have delivered a solid album that picks up the intensity from their mostly acoustic debut. The band hit the road in support of the release on a cross country trek that just wrapped up in their hometown of Portland, OR.
