*[pitchfork.com] NME reports that the bass guitar Kurt Cobain smashed at the end of Nirvana's iconic "Smells Like Teen Spirit" music video is up for auction. Krist Novoselic's destroyed instrument is expected to sell for up to £25,000 on November 29 at Christie's in London.

That auction will also feature Bob Dylan's 1958 yearbook, including this note from young Robert Zimmerman:

"Dear Jerry, Well the year's almost all over now huh. Remember the 'sessions' down at Collier. Keep practicing the guitar and maybe someday you'll be great! A friend, Bob Zimmerman."
