Frightened Rabbit Post Acoustic Videos

Frightened Rabbit are releasing their new EP of b-sides and scraped material, State Hospital, on September 24th. The band have decided to share some acoustic video recordings of the songs...

"Boxing Night" took around 6 years to get to where it now sits (alone, drinking, in its pants probably). It just never quite worked, mostly because the verse melody was a fairly strong hook, and I struggled for a long time to find a chorus to match it.

So for years it was just a dull, one dimensional run through a bleak night I had one winter. The latest version was worked up from the re-write we did whilst we were demo-ing in a house in the Scottish Borders last year.

The same session that spawned "Scottish Winds." We filmed this little video shortly after that re-write, just outside the back door of the house. Some of the lyrics have changed a bit since, but like I said, this one's been constantly evolving. I'm pleased that its finally 'done'

Should you wish to listen to it in it's current iteration then you can head over to our soundcloud page for the full track.

Here's a video of an acoustic performance I did of "State Hospital" (with the other chaps stomping and clapping off-camera). I think this was in Skye, which turned out to be pretty close to being the 'top of the pops' in terms of the shows we've played this year.

Great, great crowd. This was filmed in the calm hours before the hooting began. Enjoy."
