Titled Information Retrieved, the duo’s fifth studio full-length marks their label debut for Temporary Residence Ltd., and follows last year’s two Record Store Day EPs, Information Retrieved, Pt. A and Pt. B.
Today, the band’s issued a stream of album opener “Proceed to Memory”, along with the tracklist and album artwork (see above). Of the ten tracks listed HERE, we’ve already heard “Sherman” and “True North”. The latest track, however, is a spacey indie rock driver that excels with layered instrumentation and Rob Crow’s angst-drenched vocals. Stream it over at RollingStone.com.

*[consequenceofsound.net] Savannah, GA metal band Baroness was involved in a bus crash near Bath, England today, leaving two people “seriously” injured, reports the BBC. Seven others sustained minor injuries.
According to ITV, the incident happened at 11:30am local time while the band was on their way to Southampton. It’s unclear what caused the bus to crash and fall 30 feet over a viaduct, however, “heavy rain in the area reduced visibility and it was not possible for the air ambulance to land.”
According to an issued statement, “all band members and personnel on board are currently receiving medical treatment.” Consequently, “all remaining dates on the band’s European tour have been canceled. Additional details to come as more information is available.”
*[consequenceofsound.net] As previously reported, Beck contributed three new songs to the Playstation 3 game, Sound Shapes. Now, given that the game is currently in stores, the three tracks have made their way online. Below, the recently previewed “Cities”, “Touch the People”, and “Spiral Staircase” are all accompanied with gameplay footage for each of their respective levels in the game (via Stereogum).
The music itself, however, finds Beck in a thorazine state of mind. His vocals are far more subdued, allowing the electronic instrumentation to take center stage, especially on the percussion-heavy “Touch the People”. Stream all three tracks and keep in mind that this might be the only new music you’ll actually hear from him.
Sound Shapes is currently available for PS3 and PS Vita.
