[press release] Blue Blood is the new project of Hunter Morris, formerly of Gift Horse. These songs are less of an EP and more of an introduction to Blue Blood while the rest of the tracks are being recorded for the full album, which is set for completion in November 2012. Morris' collaborator for Blue Blood is founding member of The Whigs, former member of MGMT, and current frontman for Kuroma, Hank Sullivant. Morris originally showed demos for these songs to Sullivant, who had previously produced the Gift Horse LP "Mountain of Youth", with the idea that he again handle production duties once the songs had been fully developed and were ready to record. But Sullivant quickly assumed a more involved role due to his fondness for the songs and the studio version of Blue Blood became a collaboration between the two. Morris and Sullivant recruited J.J. Bower, drummer for Athens, GA rockers Dead Confederate, to play the drums, and in May 2012 they recorded six songs. They are currently working on the next batch of demos and will be recording an additional six to eight songs in October 2012 to complete what will be the debut Blue Blood LP.
