Quick Notes: Jack White, Fiona Apple, Guided By Voices + More

*[consequenceofsound.net] In the latest video from Blunderbuss, Jack White and famed director Hype Williams complement the prolific riffs of “Freedom at 21″ with footage of an action-packed car chase. Keep an eye out for a special appearance from Josh Homme near the end.

*[consequenceofsound.net] Fiona Apple appeared on the latest episode of Marc Maron’s WTF podcast, where she discussed “the changes in her life and career over the past 15-plus years, the highs and lows and everything else.” The episode was recorded live from Maron’s home garage, aka The Cat Ranch, in Highland Park, CA. Hear it now at Maron’s website.

*[consequenceofsound.net] Guided by Voices return today with a new video for “Keep It in Motion”, off their latest LP, Class Clown Spots a UFO. In the Todd Lamb-directed clip, Delocated’s Jon Glaser stars as a magician getting ready for the big show. Even without his trademark ski mask, he remains just as asinine.

*[SPIN.com] Listen to Gaytheist's fire-breathing 'I'm Procrastinate and I Vote' from the Portland metal weirdos' forthcoming 'Stealth Beats,' due August 21 on Good To Die.

"I'm Procrastinate and I Vote," a curious and furious highlight from (unfortunately named) Portland punk outfit Gaytheist's forthcoming Stealth Beats LP is just one minute and 12 seconds long. That's all the Portland trio need, combining the howl of the Jesus Lizard with the pop-leaning mania of Torche to thrilling effect. Hear it (over and over again) HERE.
