Quick Notes: Glassjaw, These Arms Are Snakes, Minus The Bear + More

*[theprp.com] Glassjaw performed the first in a series of two “Worship And Tribute” 10th anniversary sets last night, July 07th, at the Irving Plaza in New York City, NY. The group performed the aforementioned album in full with a bonus encore that consisted of “El Mark” and “Convectuoso“ [EIS note: the same for the second night].

Judging by the show, it looks as though there continues to be no love lost with their label home Warner Bros. Records though, as the band displayed their contract with the label on the screen. Fan-filmed footage of the performance, which also included this teaser for the bands long-awaited “Live In London” DVD, can be found HERE.

Meanwhile, a new merch deal on the bands official site, Glassjaw.com promises fans access to an upcoming “special event” in Nassau County, NY. The event will take place on August 09th, 2012 with those who purchase to be notified 48 hours prior to the mystery event.

*[theprp.com] These Arms Are Snakes‘ “This Is Meant To Hurt You” EP has been remastered for an upcoming vinyl re-release on Second Nature. In addition to the new mastering job, the outing will also arrive with updated artwork. Further details remain pending.

*[theprp.com] Minus The Bear have released a teaser video for their new album “Infinity Overhead” below. It features members of the band taking a musical walkabout, complete with helmet cams. You can watch the clip below. The band will release “Infinity Overhead” on August 28th via Dangerbird Records.

*[consequenceofsound.net] Warpaint have been flying under the radar since reworking their song “Billie Holiday” with John Frusciante and appearing at the last year’s Treasure Island Music Festival. But last night, the dream-pop quartet kicked off their European tour in Belgium, opening their set with a brand new song. Watch the fan footage HERE.

You can see the rest of the band’s upcoming tour dates HERE. Currently, their only scheduled U.S. date is at Los Angeles’ FYF Fest in September.

*[consequenceofsound.net] Australian psych-rock outfit Tame Impala will return in October with their sophomore album. According to Pitchfork, Lonerism was recorded entirely by frontman Kevin Parker and mixed by David Fridmann. Below, you can stream/download the track “Apocalypse Dreams”. The lead single, “Elephant”, will follow later this month.

In support of the release, the band is set to appear at Lollapalooza, Outside Lands, and Osheaga. Check out their full schedule at the above link.

*[theprp.com] dredg‘s forthcoming documentary feature focusing on the making of their 2005 full-length offering “Catch Without Arms” is nearing completion. No word yet on release plans for the effort.

*Check out the self titled debut EP from Brooklyn's Butter The Children. The band, featuring former members of Sweet Bulbs and current members of Night Manager, churn out a great blend of post-punk, pop, and shoegaze. You can catch them live on 7/25 at The Grand Victory and 8/2 at Big Snow with Grass Is Green and Shores!
