[press release] We've been hoping this day would come since Brooklyn label TEMPORARY RESIDENCE LIMITED remastered and reissued the complete works of two of the more important American post-punk bands of the late 80s/early 90s. BITCH MAGNET - who recently reunited to celebrate the remastered retrospective of their highly influential catalog - will perform live for the first time in North America in over 20 years! The trio (comprised of all its original members) have confirmed one live concert at New York City's esteemed (Le) Poisson Rouge in October. Co-headlining the bill will be MOSS ICON, another legendary post-hardcore band who have recently reunited. This will be MOSS ICON's first NYC performance in over 20 years. The two bands will co-headline, and there will be no opening act. That means both bands will play full sets in a great sounding room for an affordable price. That also means tickets will probably sell at a brisk pace. Pre-sales begin Monday, June 25 at Noon EST.
"BITCH MAGNET are perhaps one of the greatest, and certainly most underappreciated, post-hardcore rock groups of all time." - DROWNED IN SOUND

BITCH MAGNET was formed by Sooyoung Park (bass and vocals) and Jon Fine (guitar) at Oberlin College in late 1986, and became a much more musically viable prospect when drummer Orestes Morfin signed on in the spring of 1987. Between 1988 and 1990 BITCH MAGNET toured the US and Europe and released three landmark albums - Star Booty (1988), Umber (1989), and Ben Hur (1990) - which established them among the top tier of American independent bands of that era. The band's entire remastered catalog, along with six previously unreleased tracks, was reissued as a triple-CD and triple-LP set in late 2011 by Temporary Residence Ltd., and won rapturous critical notices in the US and abroad. The lineup of Fine, Morfin and Park reunited in late 2011 for a series of shows in Asia and Europe, including a featured appearance at All Tomorrow's Parties "Nightmare Before Christmas" festival in the UK. In addition to its October 25 show at New York's Le Poisson Rouge, BITCH MAGNET will play a handful of other North American dates this fall.
