*[theprp.com] Kylesa have teamed up with Alternative Tentacles to re-release remastered versions of “To Walk A Middle Course” and “Time Will Fuse Its Worth” on vinyl. The latter release will also feature a new mixing job.

To Walk A Middle Course” will be made available on clear vinyl, while “Time Will Fuse It’s Worth” will be pressed on red vinyl. A late June release date is expected with pre-orders of a special “Hessian Collector’s Bundle” available at Indiemerch.com.

*[consequenceofsound.net] There was a lot of drama behind Foo Fighters’ fourth studio LP, One by One. Prior to its release in 2002, the band experienced plenty of behind-the-scenes turmoil whilst recording, and at one point they almost broke up. The album would go on to be recorded twice, with the original recordings – dubbed the Million Dollar Demo – scrapped and locked away. Now, as Grunge Report points out, rough recordings from the discarded release have popped online, including two full tracks “Have It All” and “Come Back”. For a peek into the album-that-was-but-here’s-a-different-recording-of-it, check out the tracks below.

In other FF news... The season finale of Saturday Night Live just became must-see TV. According to Entertainment Weekly, host/musical guest Mick Jagger will be joined by Foo Fighters and Arcade Fire. The episode takes place May 19th. Hopefully, they let Dave do some acting.

*[lambgoat.com] Fight Amp are currently hard at work completing their third full length entitled "Birth Control" for Translation Loss Records. "Birth Control" is being engineered by Steve Poponi at Gradwell Studios and for the first time, the band is recording completely to 2" tape. "Birth Control" will see a late summer release and feature 8 new songs with over 40 minutes worth of new material.

*[FMQB.com] In a new interview with Rolling Stone, Jerry Cantrell says Alice In Chains is ready to start on the follow-up to their comeback album Black Gives Way To Blue. Work on the album had been delayed due to Cantrell having shoulder surgery. The guitarist/singer told Rolling Stone, "It‘s time to get to work and the material is really interesting, the body of work that we’ve done. It’ll be as different as any one of our records is to any other, and it’ll also be just as recognizable. It’s an Alice record, for sure."

He adds that the band will take their time, saying, "We’ve been very lucky to be able to kind of do things at our own pace for our entire career. And this is no exception."

Cantrell will be honored with the Stevie Ray Vaughan Award by MAP/MusiCares at a May 31 ceremony in Los Angeles. Alice In Chains will perform at the event along with Heart, Billy Idol, Duff McKagan, Mark Lanegan and a DJ set from Moby.
