*[pitchfork.com] Here's the first taste of Future of the Left's new album The Plot Against Common Sense, their first full-length studio record since 2009's excellent Travels With Myself and Another. The Cardiff act is as strident and noisy as ever - stream "I Am the Least of Your Problems" HERE.
*[pitchfork.com] You may recall that the Flaming Lips pressed a limited run of their collaborative Record Store Day album Heady Fwends to vinyl that includes samples of the involved artists' actual blood inside of it. Wayne Coyne has now tweeted that 10 copies of the blood vinyl will be available for $2,500 each.
He also tweeted that the blood included samples from Heady Fwends contributors Nick Cave, Erykah Badu, Ke$ha, Coldplay's Chris Martin, and more. Check out photo and video documentation HERE.
Coyne also recently appeared on Marc Maron's WTF podcast, sharing stories of acid trips and other things. And the Flaming Lips recently covered the Beach Boys' "God Only Knows" for MOJO's Beach Boys 50th anniversary issue; check it out HERE, via the Flaming Lips fan message board Slow Nerve Action.
*A message from Torche... "Just a quick note, if you find yourself out shopping for Blu-rays, 3-D TVs and whatnot this weekend, our new CD Harmonicraft is on sale at Best Buy right now for only $7.99 or if you do your shopping online, that sale price also applies on the web HERE. And if you only buy vinyl or digital, sorry for the interruption, there isn't a filter for that in this email program. We'll now let you return to your regularly scheduled activities.
P.S. Chapel Hill, Atlanta and Orlando, see you next week...

*[consequenceofsound.net] Soundgarden has released the video for “Live To Rise”, their first piece of new music in 15 years, which appears on the soundtrack to The Avengers. With direction by Robert Hales, the clip mixes scenes from the film with footage of the band performing amidst a giant explosion. Don’t ask why.
*A message from Shield Your Eyes... "Hello, we have a nice new free download release for you on the Gnat's Clit Recordings bandcamp page... Shield Your Eyes - Live in London. Recorded on a one-off gig a couple of weeks after our tour round France and Spain, this nicely captures four of the songs from the set to serve as an indication of what we're sounding like these days and what to expect from us in the future. More live recordings from the French and Spanish dates have surfaced and over the summer we will be making those available in a similar way. Featuring our newest song "Flown", which is my personal favourite Eyes song so far. Click HERE to listen and download for free.
Please feel free to download this and any amount of other stuff from the page, and invite anyone you know who might like to do the same. Thanks a lot, take care" - Stef
