Quick Notes: Shiner, Soundgarden, Deftones + More

*[] Shiner will reunite and hit the road in August with a new vinyl pressing of their 2001 album “The Egg” in tow. The pressing will be made available through Josh Newton and Joe Trohman‘s Son Of Man NYC company.

Dates include:

08/11 New York, NY – Irving Plaza
08/18 Los Angeles, CA – Echoplex
08/24 Lawrence, KS – The Granada

At least another date is expected to be announced soon.

*[] A box set of Soundgarden‘s ‘classic’ albums is being prepared for a May 21st release date overseas through Universal Music. Titled “The Classic Album Selection“, the effort will feature specially packaged copies of the following albums from the band:

“Louder Than Love”
“Down On The Upside”
“Live On I-5“

*[] Deftones have enlisted producer Nick Raskulinecz (Alice In Chains, Foo Fighters) to helm the ongoing recording sessions for their new album. The band previously worked with Raskulinecz on 2010′s “Diamond Eyes“. A release through Reprise later this year is expected for the effort with more details pending.

A new album from the group is due out later this year.

*[] Marriages (Red Sparowes) recently took part in the ever-intimate “Violitionist Sessions”. You can watch them perform three songs and more over at The group will release their new opus “Kitsune” through Sargent House on May 01st.

*[] Storm Corrosion, who feature Opeth‘s Mikael Akerfeldt and Porcupine Tree‘s Steven Wilson, have debuted their music video for their track “Drag Ropes” below. The self-titled debut album from the project will arrive in stores on May 08th through Roadrunner Records.
