Vice's "On The Road" with Jesse Hughes + Tim Harrington Debuts Tonight


[press release] Today VICE and Marshall Headphones announces that to celebrate the series premiere of epic documentary series On the Road, this week will see a special double bill. The first episode premieres today and episode two will be available to watch on Thursday 29th September.

In episode one Jesse Hughes sets out on his mission to discover what a roadie is and what life is like on the road. He visits the legendary Wiltern in Los Angeles to check out a gig that Queens of the Stone Age are headlining, and to meet the 'Wizard' soundman Hutch. Not only does Jesse chat to Hutch about living on the road and how he got into the business, but also meets Josh Homme and the rest of Queens of the Stone Age to chat about why Hutch is truly the man that makes their shows happen.

Jesse's epic journey continues in episode two on Thursday 29th September. He goes to hard-rock and metal Awards show, Revolver Golden Gods Awards in Hollywood to see if they really do love the road heroes, and speaks to legendary rockers on the red carpet including Robb Flynn & Dave McClain of Machine Head Fame, Guns n' Roses former drummer Steven Adler, Mötley Crüe lead singer Vince Neil, and Slipknot's Shaun Crahan, who all pay homage to the crew behind the gigs.

Jesse also interviews one of the industries most infamous roadies – Jef Hickey, who over the years has worked with some of the world's most well-known bands and artists, ranging from Metallica and Motörhead to Madonna and Mariah Carey. We hear some of Jef's crazy stories and regrets from the road, although it sounds as if Jef does not have too many.

On the Road, is a twelve part documentary series produced by VICE and Marshall Headphones. Presented by Jesse Hughes for the first six episodes and Tim Harrington for the next, On the Road celebrates the traveling rock 'n' roll lifestyle playing tribute to the unsung, behind-the-scenes heroes that make the gigs happen.

Jesse "The Devil" Hughes, aka Boots Electric and epic front-man of Eagles of Death Metal is a musician from South Carolina. Jesse has recently released his debut album under the name Boots Electric, called Honkey Kong. In Jesse's six episodes he travels around his beloved home state of California from Hollywood to Coachella Valley.

Tim Harrington is the lead singer of New York City Indie rock band Les Savy Fav. In the six episodes that Tim presents he travels off the beaten track to discover epic tales behind iconic concerts from Omaha to Austin.
