*[press release] In February of 2011 Scottish experimental-rock institution Mogwai released their first album on Sub Pop. It’s a fantastic record (“It’s a beautiful album, sure, but most important, it’s a fun one too”—LA Times) and has the almost unbelievably great title Hardcore Will Never Die, But You Will. On September 13th, the band follow up Hardcore Will Never Die, But You Will (any excuse to repeat that, really…) with the Earth Division EP. Earth Division highlights a more subdued side of Mogwai, with three quietly plaintive piano- and string-infused tracks, plus the fuzz-drenched haze of “Drunk and Crazy.” If you pre-order Earth Division, you'll receive a link to instantly stream the entire EP.
Also newsworthy: we just unearthed a small handful of the otherwise out-of-print deluxe version of the Hardcore Will Never Die, But You Will CD! So if you missed out the first time around and have been living with that regret since, here's an opportunity to be free of those inhibiting feelings and also $16 plus shipping and handling. Get that HERE. See Mogwai on the road at one of these fine establishments:
