Quick Notes: Pixies, Eels, Mariachi El Bronx + More

*An update from the Pixies... "We are pleased to announce the new-fangled PIXIES mobile app (available for iPhone and Android) is now out and ready. And FREE. Stream the Purple Tape. Download Coachella 2004. Listen to live shows from '88 and beyond. There is even an acoustic show in there.

Oh, and did we mention the site now has the entire catalog (so far) ready for download in CD-quality digital files? It does. The Doolittle Lost Cities US Tour Dates are on sale now, too. Busy times, indeed."

*[consequenceofsound.net] Recent CoS interviewee Mark Oliver Everett (a.k.a. Eels) took some time amidst his massive world tour for a performance of “That’s Not Her Way” on Letterman last night. It marked his fourth appearance on the show and you can chart the evolution of his beard in the clips listed HERE.

Eels’ latest LP Tomorrow Morning — the third in a trilogy that also includes Hombre Lobo and End Times – is available now via E Works/Vagrant. Those aforementioned tour dates are HERE.

*[punknews.org] The Bronx has released another new track from their upcoming sophomore effort as their spicy alter ego, Mariachi El Bronx. The album is due out August 2, 2011 via ATO and was recorded by John Avila, formerly of Oingo Boingo.

*Sleeper Agent, the Bowling Green, KY six-piece is set to release their debut album, Celabrasion, on September 27, 2011 via mom+pop music. The iTunes pre-order for the album is now live HERE.
