[NME.com] Biffy Clyro played one of their last gigs before they begin work on their sixth album at Ibiza Rocks last night (July 20).
Performing in the outdoor courtyard at the Ibiza Rocks Hotel in San Antonio, the Scottish guitar trio took to the stage just before 11pm. Playing a hard and fast set, they included hits 'Many Of Horror', 'Mountains' and 'Bubbles' as well as airing brand new track 'The Joke's On Us'.
Speaking to NME before the gig, bassist James Johnston said: "We want to try and put the name of the whole shenanigans to the test, really - they said Ibiza Rocks, we want to find out if it really does".
James also spoke about the sunshine bathing the Spanish island. "Being from Scotland, it's nice to have the good weather. There's a famous quote, 'the Johnston twins will take a week in the sun to get white'", referring to him and drummer brother Ben.
When asked if the band, who had played the Mallorca Rocks event the previous night, would be investigating the clubbier side of the island, James replied: "It's something we'd like to go and check out. We're not really big clubbers, I find the whole thing a bit intimidating, but exciting."
Biffy Clyro play French festival Rock en Seine next month, before heading off to Los Angeles to record the follow-up to their successful fifth studio album 'Only Revolutions' later this year.
Biffy Clyro played:
'That Golden Rule'
'Glitter And Trauma'
'Born On A Horse'
'God & Satan'
'Who's Got A Match?'
'Know Your Quarry'
'Living Is A Problem Because Everything Dies'
'The Joke's On Us'
'There's No Such Thing As A Jaggy Snake'
'Many Of Horror'
