[pitchfork.com] Former Screaming Trees frontman, Isobel Campbell/Gutter Twins/Twilight Singers/Soulsavers/Queens of the Stone Age collaborator and boozy, downbeat solo artist Mark Lanegan is one of the least cartoonish people in the entire rock landscape. Yet you can now purchase an inches-tall plastic version of the man from his own website. If you've ever wanted a grizzled, apocalyptic post-grunge singer-songwriter constantly nodding at you from the corner of your desk or dashboard, now's your chance.
It features Lanegan in a suit, holding a cigarette, on a stand that reads "The Night Porter" (an allusion to a lyric from Lanegan's song "When Your Number Isn't Up".) The bobblehead even has Lanegan's hand tattoos!
In slightly less ridiculous Lanegan news, he's contributed a song called "Burning Jacob's Ladder" to the post apocalyptic shooter video game Rage, which arrives in September from id Software. The song plays during the trailer of the game, which you can watch below. Don't watch it if you're the type of person who doesn't like to feel like you're being attacked by pixelated mutants.
Lanegan will play a few solo acoustic shows on the West Coast in June, and he's also got some European dates coming up with frequent collaborator Isobel Campbell. His touring plans are below.
