An update regarding Austin's The Boxing Lesson...
"Since releasing the band's most ambitious, shape-shifting album of their infamous career, The Boxing Lesson has seen their latest long-player "Fur State" turn into an underground success that is still growing ripe with fever amongst fans. Recently, "Fur State" climbed up to #19 last week as the only unsigned artist (and without radio promo we might add) on the "Topless 39" charts on KVRX amongst awesome bands like The Black Angels, Warpaint, FM Belfast, Akron/Family, etc. We are all pretty honored and humbled by this ground roots appeal that's happening there and we dig it. Help the band climb higher up the charts by requesting some music of theirs HERE.
The Boxing Lesson have also release a brand new music video, their second from Fur State, for the track "Four". This video was animated and directed by Austin, TX artist Jeanne Hospod and is described in her own words as an "Alien woman seduces hapless human male involving a very unusual flower." As if we need to get you intrigued anymore! Go there now!
But the video is also much more than that brief description, this features some of the trippiest paintings & animations continuing a theme from Jeanne's previous video "One" for The Boxing Lesson. We also get to see the traveling "Topo Chico Kitties" as I like to call 'em traveling in another dimension and witnessing another event. Jeanne Hospod's art is coming into its own and she continues to create some of the most creative and inspiring art in Texas.
