Flaming Lips Performing "The Soft Bulletin" on New Year's

[consequenceofsound.net] In the weeks that follow, plenty of New Years Eve options will surely present itself. But only one will feature aliens, beach balls, and The Soft Bulletin played in its entirety. That is unless there’s a Flaming Lips cover band I’m unaware of.

Anyhow, yes, The Flaming Lips will play their 1999 masterpiece — in its entirety — on December 31st in their hometown of Oklahoma City. An exact location and ticket information has not yet been announced, but stay tuned to the Lips’ Twitter and/or us for more information.

For those who already have their New Years Eve plans booked, you could always fly to London this summer. As previously reported, the band will also perform The Soft Bulletin as part of ATP Concert’s Don’t Look Back series. The concert will take place at the Alexandra Palace in London on July 1st. Dinosaur Jr. and Deerhoof will be performing in support.

Also, this weekend, The Flaming Lips will host their annual March of the Skeletons in Oklahoma City. Click here for more details.
