Nine years after the release of their classic debut United By Fate, Rival Schools have finally returned from their hiatus this year and are off to a busy start. They were a part of AOL Spinner’s Pop-up shows this past SXSW, opened up for Weezer, and are about to start run of tour dates with The Gaslight Anthem. The shows kick off with a stop at New York City’s legendary Radio City Music Hall. The band will also be delivering their long-awaited follow-up album early next year on Photo Finish/Atlantic Records. In the meantime, click HERE to watch the video for one of their old favorites, "Good Things"
When Walter Schreifels, Sammy Siegler, Ian Love, and Cache Tolman first joined forces they were touted a “supergroup” by many, having played in influential bands like Gorilla Biscuits, Glassjaw, Nightmare of You, Youth of Today, Quicksand, Burn, CIV, and Iceburn, to name a few. With a shared desire to continue progressing forward from their roots in the hardcore scene, the guys crafted a sound that fused all varieties of heavy rock with anthemic melodies and sophisticated hooks. The band ended up gaining a whole new generation of fans while making their older ones proud, and created a brand new legacy for themselves in the process. Rival Schools will offer the first taste of their forthcoming album when new track “Shot After Shot” debuts in November, with a video for it coming soon as well.
