*[theprp.com] Soundgarden’s previously unreleased track “Black Rain” had its world premiere on 107.7 The End tonight, August 08th, and can be streamed at the above-mentioned link.
The song, an outtake from the “Badmotorfinger” sessions, will also be included on the bands upcoming rarities collection “Telephantasm“, which is due out on September 28th. It will also be playable in the upcoming “Guitar Hero: Warriors Of Rock” video game, which is due out on the same date.
Here's what The End had to say about the premiere...
[blogs.1077theend.com] Today is a big day for Soundgarden fans. First, the band officially took the stage for their triumphant return Lollapalooza in Chicago’s Grant Park (hear a backstage interview below). Now, the first new music from the guys in over a decade.
Recorded during the Badmotorfinger sessions and appearing on the forthcoming “Telephantasm” retrospective (out September 28th) here’s the world premiere of the brand new track “Black Rain”.

Killer huh? (Apologies for the technical glitch that happened in the stream during our world premiere. We’re trying to figure out what happened, but are guessing it has something to do with the number of people streaming at the time of the premiere. By now we hope you’ve been able to enjoy the song over and over and over.)
The guys also chatted about everything that is happening with the 2010 reunion from their hotel in Chicago. Check out that audio here.
