[thesodashop.wordpress.com] Los Angeles, CA-modern psych sorcerers, Dead Meadow have announced that original drummer Mark Laughlin will join the band for two U.S. reunion shows this October as well as a headline run of Australia. The U.S. shows (October 3rd, Echoplex in Los Angeles and October 5th, Great American Music Hall in San Francisco) will mark Lauglin’s first appearance with the band since 2002. The Trio of Laughlin, Jason Simon (guitar/vocals) and Steven Kille (bass) originally formed as Dead Meadow in Washington DC in 1999. This trio appeared on the s/t debut album in 2000 and it’s successor “Howls From The Hills” in 2001 (both albums have been recently re-released by Xemu Records). Laughlin reluctantly left the band in 2002 to attend law school but has remained on good terms with his former band-mates.
These shows follow this spring’s release of Dead Meadow’s ambitious LP/DVD “The Three Kings” and summer’s whirlwind U.S. and European headlining tours.
