[pitchfork.com] On Friday night, Band of Horses opened for Pearl Jam at Madison Square Garden. According to Steady Burn, six songs deep into Pearl Jam's second encore (!), the band invited BoH frontman Ben Bridwell to the stage to sing Chris Cornell's part on Temple of the Dog's historic grunge sing-off "Hunger Strike". Steady Burn has a remarkably great-sounding, well-shot fan video of the duet, as well as a set list for Pearl Jam's set. Watch the clip below.
Bridwell might not have a whole lot in common with Cornell vocally, but he sure can nail those big high notes on "I'm going hungraaa-aaaay!" But from the way the video below sounds, Pearl Jam don't even need to bring out another singer to do the Cornell bit; they can just have the crowd do it for them. Also worth noting: Ben Bridwell is way taller than Eddie Vedder.
