Waxhouse are Under Control's "Unsigned Spotlight"

Under Control, a UK based zine for unsigned music have picked Waxhouse as this week's "Unsigned Spotlight"...

[undercontrol.org.uk] It seems that when discussing Waxhouse nobody quite knows how to describe them. Are they dance-punk? They sorta were once. Are they art-rock? It’s not clear that “art” is necessarily their intent. Are they a “noise” band? They’re far too structured to simply be identified as noise. They’re just Waxhouse really.

With the release of their Debut EP "Curve Dare" in December 2009 they have been gigging around London and the south east since early 2009 and have been developing their sound further and further.

Although not a patch on their compelling and exciting live performances, the driving energetic tracks are as close as you can get without leaving your bedroom.

Blending a unique style of melodic pop and complex hard hitting grooves they have been gathering a fanbase and have gigged with such acts as Gary Numan, The Mystery Jets and Das Pop. They have also played venues such as 93 Feet East, Scala, Proud Galleries and Old Blue Last.

Waxhouse will be continuing to gig throughout 2010 to advertise their EP which can be downloaded completely for free at www.myspace.com/waxhouseband
