Engineer Records has posted a post-tour update following Exeter's recent Midwest trek...
"Exeter finished up their eight-date Midwest tour last week. Starting in Houston, Texas and heading as far north as Manhattan, Kansas. This is the first real tour for the four-piece band from Austin, Texas, which released its first full-length album, Grey Noise, White Lies, in August 2009 (Engineer/Pop Up Records). Some stops in the tour included Rudyard’s in Houston, Texas, Murphy’s in Memphis, Tennessee, the Riot Room in Kansas City, Missouri, and the Prophet Bar in Dallas, Texas. Exeter shared the stage with some talented bands including A Revolution of Kings, Shots Fired, Audiovox, Latin, Twin Pilot and the Rainy Saturdays. Exeter made a lot of new friends on the tour, and created some strong contacts for future tours in the area. All the venues asked for the band to come back and play a show. Brad Chancellor of Orion and Audiovox fame opened his house in Lawrence, Kan., to the band for a place to sleep and recuperate after several days of driving and sleeping in interesting places. Outside of Brad, fans of the band in nearly every city offered a place to stay for free.
Exeter is now setting sights on playing local shows and hitting other Texas cities throughout the winter and spring. The setlist for most shows should include new material written in the past few months, and there are more to come.
