Blakroc (Black Keys / Mos Def) Live on Letterman


[pitchfork.com] Last night, a remarkably dapper Mos Def showed up on the "Late Show With David Letterman" alongside the Black Keys, in their BlakRoc guise, and Harlem head-smacker Jim Jones. That unlikely crew performed a smoothly psychedelic rendition of the BlakRoc track "Ain't Nothing Like You (Hoochie Coo)".

As on the self-titled BlakRoc album, the collaboration comes off way more calm and unforced than anyone could've expected, with the Black Keys' smeary blues-rock seamlessly meshing with Mos' moans and Jones' unpretentious tough talk. Somehow, though, the best part of the performance was Letterman telling Jim Jones, "Way to go." Check out the video below, via Prefix...
