"Hey everyone. Brad here. You may or may not have noticed a lack of updates coming from us over the past few months and there is a reason for this. ORION has come to its end in somewhat of an odd fashion. We released the 10011011 EP in memory of my best friend Luke Nathaniel Simmons who passed away in 2006 at the age of 27 after nearly a 5 year battle with brain cancer. Luke was born on October 1st 1979 [10.01] and died on October 11th 2006 [10.11]. ORION split on October 11th 2008. Maybe October 11th is just a bad day or maybe things really do happen for a reason. We want to sincerely thank all of you for the amazing support you've shown this band since its creation. So many of you kept up with us and stood by through thick and thin. We met so many amazing people because of this band and for that we are grateful. A very special thanks goes out to Larry Suglio over at Pop Up Records for truly believing in us and offering us more love and support than we knew what to do with; to Eric Graves for spending an entire year with us recording the 10011011 EP for absolutely free; and to past musicians who initially took part - Brett Paschal, Mike Quillin, and Brett Goulette. All of you who bought our record, downloaded our music, came to our shows, or simply took the time to write us a message every now and then, made this all worth while. We love ALL of you and can't say thank you enough.
As for continued musical efforts, I am currently involved in a new project called AUDIOVOX with my friend Martin Bush. You can find us HERE!! Again Lance, Patrick, and I thank you so much for everything. Each and every single one of you made ORION what it was and we give you our deepest thanks. As Matt Talbott would say; "I can hardly wait for my stars to fall in line..." Goodbye." - Brad Chancellor
Be sure to check out Brad's new band, Audiovox, who will be one of the many great bands participating in the Exploding in Sound CD compilation, coming soon! He was also kind enough to lend his artwork talent to the cover and CD booklet art. You're really not going to want to miss this. Just look how cool the art for Audiovox is...
