Respect Where It's Due

Here is a bulletin from Brad of Orion regarding the Failure Tribute album, "The Nurse Who Loved Me."

"Well I just finished dropping the layout design into the finalized templates a couple of hours ago and have completed the CD EXTRA portion of the master which Pop Up Records will be delivering to the pressing company next week sometime. It's finally complete and ready to roll. I'm sure the Failure Tribute page will be posting an update on when to expect the physical release date in the very near future.

I listened to the entire master in full and I must say that I know I speak for the rest of ORION when I say we are honored to be a part of this with so many great up and coming bands. I've watched this idea grow from infant to adult. I can remember being asked for permission to allow the Tablets Of Orion track to be included on this record well over a year ago. Back then it was simply a hopeful idea and within a couple of months because of the overwhelming support of most of you, it slowly turned into a reality. I want to give props to Larry Suglio for being the brain child of this project and really coming through with a great product that pays tribute to one of the most influential bands out there. I know he has been through the ringer during the making of this tribute. Everyone should really thank him for his extremely hard work in paying tribute and trying to bring a band like Failure back into the limelight in today's world where music is no where near what it used to be. You may not have heard of many of the bands on this compilation [aside from Paramore] but I can assure you they are some of the most passionate musicians I have ever come across. I've met some really awesome people through this, have been introduced to some amazing bands that I otherwise wouldn't have heard, and have made some great friends all thanks to the making of the tribute. I want to thank all of the bands involved for making this TOP quality and Larry Suglio for having a truly honest vision and following through without backing down.
Now go over to www.myspace.com/failuretribute and give some friggin' love to the man! I know he'd appreciate some encouraging comments so please take the time and do so. It would at most probably take less than 30 seconds to do. That's not asking much considering he has spent an entire year putting together this thing. If you've made it this far in my bulletin then I thank you for reading ALL of this. I tend to ramble while excited. Seriously though just go over to the Failure Tribute page and give some love on the comments. Take care guys and thanks for listening.

And by the way I find it crazy that during all of this time of building the Failure Tribute, not once has Lar used it as a springboard to promote his own musical project. We are going to do that for him right now. His band B.L. Barakus will be included on the tribute offering a cover of Heliotropic which just might be the best contribution to the compilation.
Do yourselves a favor and please check out his music page at www.myspace.com/blbarakus."

As my previous review of the album attests, I agree 100%. The album is damn near finished, and will hopefully be released in early November. Stay tuned for more information.
